MDT Working
At Mini Wonders, we strongly believe that children achieve the best outcomes when professionals work together in a truly collaborative way. Multidisciplinary team (MDT) working is at the centre of our approach, ensuring that therapy is joined-up, meaningful, and focused on what matters most to each child and family.
We are proud to work closely alongside The Great Little OT Practice, a specialist children’s occupational therapy practice who share our values of child-centred and family-focused care. Through our close working relationship, we are able to provide a highly coordinated approach that combines the strengths and expertise of both physiotherapy and occupational therapy.
By working together regularly, we can create shared therapy goals that are realistic, functional, and relevant to everyday life. Joint goal setting allows us to look at the whole child and consider goals across mobility, independence, access, play, self-care, emotional wellbeing, and participation across home, school, and community environments. This collaborative approach helps ensure that therapy remains consistent and achievable, while reducing duplication and making the process clearer and more manageable for families.
How We Work
Our physiotherapists and occupational therapists regularly communicate, problem-solve, and plan interventions together, allowing each profession to contribute its unique clinical perspective and specialist knowledge. Whether supporting postural management, equipment provision, gross motor development, sensory needs, independence skills, or access to meaningful activities, we work as one team around the child.
We recognise the value of families not having to coordinate separate therapy plans or conflicting recommendations. Through joint working, integrated sessions where appropriate, and collaborative reporting, we aim to make therapy feel more streamlined, supportive, and effective for everyone involved.
