Cerebral Palsy
Cerebral Palsy is a neurological condition that affects movement, posture, balance, and coordination. It is caused by an injury or difference in the developing brain, usually occurring before, during, or shortly after birth. Every child with cerebral palsy is unique, and the way the condition affects movement and daily life can vary greatly from one child to another.
Children with cerebral palsy may experience challenges with muscle tone, strength, balance, mobility, coordination, and functional skills. Some children may have increased muscle stiffness (spasticity), involuntary movements (dyskinesia), or difficulties with posture and motor control, which can impact everyday activities such as sitting, standing, walking, play, self-care, and participation at school or within the community.
At Mini Wonders, we are passionate about helping children with cerebral palsy build confidence, independence, and physical skills through specialist paediatric physiotherapy that is both evidence-based and engaging. We understand that children achieve the best outcomes when therapy feels motivating, enjoyable, and meaningful, which is why we work hard to make physiotherapy fun. Sessions are tailored around each child’s interests and goals, using play, games, music, obstacle courses, challenges, specialist equipment, and functional activities to keep children motivated while developing important movement skills.
Our experienced physiotherapists provide personalised therapy programmes designed around the individual needs of every child and family. We focus on helping children participate more comfortably and confidently in everyday life, while supporting long-term physical wellbeing and functional development.
